Board Members Needed for 2018

The Shenandoah County Soccer League needs you! We have open positions on our Board of Directors and we need parents and coaches (current or former) who believe in the league and want to expand opportunities for kids to play soccer in Shenandoah County. 

The Shenandoah County Soccer League Board of Directors governs, manages, and regulates the conduct of all league business and affairs. Everyone on the board is a volunteer and is committed to the league's motto: soccer is about learning and having fun!

Each member serves for a year. There are several openings on the board for 2018:
  • Secretary
    • Attend each monthly meeting of the SCSL Board of Directors 
    • Record the proceedings of each meeting (attendance, discussion, and motions)
    • Distribute a copy of the minutes from each meeting before the next meeting
  • Equipment Coordinator
    •  Keeps an inventory of the League's goals, nets, and other equipment or supplies
    • At the end of each year makes recommendations to the Board about replacement of equipment (as needed) 
  • U12 and U15 Commissioners
    • Recruit coaches for the upcoming season before the end of registration in the respective age division
    • Attempt to resolve any problems in their assigned age division and report any unresolved problems to the Recreation Commissioner 
    • Survey coaches in the respective age division at the end of the season to see who will return and who may move to other age divisions
  • Area Representatives (North, Central, South)
    • Assist the Registrar to promote registration each season in their respective areas
    • Help identify families eligible for and in need of registration scholarships
    • Assist the Age Commissioners in identifying potential coaches in their respective areas
    • Recruit parents to volunteer for League activities
    • Assist with League fundraising activities
